UI System Design and Animation for SophiaVerse
As the Lead UI/UX Designer and Animator for SophiaVerse, I had the opportunity to craft a massive UI system for a first-person 3D adventure game from scratch, including icons, menus, buttons, character customization, diegetic interfaces, and gameplay systems.
Together with VP of UX Brendan Ma and overseen by Lead Game Designer Eloh, I built and shipped hundreds of assets for the game developers to implement in Unity. I worked with Eloh to create the functionality and interaction of every UI system, from logging in and character creation to puzzle designs, dialogue and crafting systems, and resource management.
Many of these systems are complex and take a significant amount of time to implement in-engine, so to showcase them in our teasers and trailers as well as provide guidelines for the developers on how they should look and feel, I animated and composited user flows and interactions in After Effects over gameplay footage. The trailer below shows many of these systems in context.
